On a 20k used car, they are pricing it a lot more than a few hundred bucks.

Most of the time this is true, but myself and many other dealers decrease the price of a used vehicle as it ages. If it is 60+ days old most likely there is minimal profit in the price, if it's old enough we could have it priced at a loser.

Agree and also the fact that you have to pay insurance on what is on your lot.

This car was on the lot less than a 2 days and was the EXACT same car as they had just sold for at least 1k cheaper. That car had been on the lot for 45 days.

So when the sales girl pulled out the "Were only making a few hundred on this car" I laughed at her. When we said we were heading out is when the sales manager came over and said "We'd hate to lose you over a few hundred dollars"

After telling him I knew about the other car he said "Well this one has only been here for a day, so were not moving on it" to which I responded, "Great, well I'll come back in 30 days and we can do this dance all over again".
