You're trying to say a bunch of unknowns, Vasquez, and Lopez are championship players?

No, I'm saying that they allow us the flexibility to add pieces to put together a championship team. In theory, that's what they tried to do, but they added pieces that 1.) don't fit together and 2.) aren't good enough to win big with.

How do you know this? By the time any of those guys became a competent NBA starter, we'll have had time to replace Gordon. Also, if all of those guys play well enough to be a championship team, we'll struggle to resign them all in the same year or consecutive years. If they turn into middling NBA players, that's all you have.

Let's compare AD's supporting cast to the last 3 young stars that put a team on their back and made the Finals.

Holiday
Gordon
Evans
Ryno
Asik

vs. 06-07 LeBron Cavs

Larry Hughs
Drew Gooden
Zydrunas Ilgauskas
Anderson Varejao
Eric Snow

vs. 08-09 Dwight Magic

Rashard Lewis
Hedo Turkoglu
Courtney Lee
Mickael Pietrus
Jameer Nelson

vs. 11-12 Durant Thunder

Russel Westbrook
James Harden
Serge Ibaka
Nick Collison
Kendrick Perkins

The Pelicans may not have a Westbrook or a Harden, but I think they clearly have enough of a supporting cast to make the Finals if AD becomes the top 3 player we think he'll be come.
