but why take the chance, keeping my kids locked in their rooms is the only way to really ensure they'll see adulthood. It's ok though, they have computers and video games to keep them occupied. For my son's birthday we let him come outside for a few minutes for cake, but then a strange car (black man) came down the street going a little too slow for comfort. He was obviously looking for someone to kidnap and give drugs to, so back to the vault (our little nickname for his room) he went. Thankfully the police sent a car to drive down our street a few hours later, we felt much safer then.

BTW, if any of you have young kids, don't even think of letting them ride in the car without getting a mechanical engineer to test your installation of the car seat...if you don't your kids will die.
