Get a Smart card for the metro/bus. If you stay near a stop you will probably not have to drive or even use Uber that much.
Go see:
Newseum
Natural History Museum
Washington Mon. (it's open)

Stay in the NW part of town, preferably just north of the mall. DO NOT stay in the NE. My office is in DC and I love seeing the city when I am in town. Uber is easy, metro works fine except for GW, and my favorite bars are the POV at the top of the W hotel and the Round Robin scotch bar. Also I love oysters at Old Ebbits.

As a DC resident, I agree with this post. Good advice.
Zoo is free, 14th street has the best restaurants, kayaking on the Potomac is great, Bullpen before a Nats game, visit Georgetown and Old Town Alexandria, the Mint, etc.

I second this. Nothing earth shattering, but it is conveniently placed and quick to get through, as well as interesting.
Much KGB stuff.
