LSU has dodged many bullets in the post Saban era that began in a January. Its a tribute to everyone associated with LSU, that they have overcome them all. Auburn was down, Texas, USCw, Michigan, Penn St Florida, Tennessee, Arkansas, even easy ole Ohio State had a bad yr on the gridiron and had a probation. Mark Richt's seat was scorching 2 yrs ago.
LSU had some rotten luck. During their undefeated season they likely wouldve beaten anyone other than Alabama that night. The following yr they had an NFL team and dominated the Bama game but lost on the screen pass at the end of the game. Some questionable sideline decisions were costly as well. LSU played one of their very best games ever that night.
If we win either game the perception is LSU is a juggernaut. Losing the most players to NFL, playing one of the very hardest schedules and still kicking butt.....
C'est la vie.
But LSU has withstood the latest obstacle which was the unprecendented NFL departures and are on solid footing again. Still a year away from being completely stacked, but really an amazing accomplishment as u look around and see some of the very best programs struggling every 4-5 years.
There are very few schools that have matched the Miles era and when u consider everything that has transpired, it would be a very short list nationally.
2nd in recruiting last yr and the additions of Coach Cameron and Grimes has LSU right back where they belong on the verge of a Championship. But , its not as easy as it used to be. Almost all the SEC schools have doubled and even tripled their number of 4 and 5* players. Its about to become a QB thing, if it hasnt already.
