We had been linked with Ricardo Rodriguez, but Wolfsburg came out today and said no go on that one.

Would've been stoked to land both of those but something tells me it would be tough to make both of them happy as far as their play time is concerned.

maybe not this year. But certainly in normal Champions league years, 4-5 cb's are needed for a long season. especially if 1 (jones) is also playing rb, and dm and if another (smalling) is playing cb and rb.
and the other 2 players who can play rb are also needed to cover other positions: LB (rafeal) and rm (valencia).

Evans, Hummels, and de vrij would be the only full time cb. I think we could find enough pt to keep everyone happy.

I was talking about Shaw and Rodrigues. They are both perfectly capable of starting at top clubs in my opinion so why would they come to be a back up is what I was trying to say.

Not being in Europe this year doesn't help either but I expect a return after this season.

I think I just heard Hargreaves pull a hammy again.

Klopp says hell no to Hummels leaving. Could be posturing, possibly need to look elsewhere.

De Vrij and Daley Blind incoming?

I would be happy with either or both. I think they would both be legitimate targets for us.

He said you know its bullshite due to the price

From day one he said Hummels and Reus were not for sale. But with Dortmund loading up at CB I could see Hummels going way before Reus.

I'd really like to see Blind for another LB and a guy who could play DM.

In more positive news, apparently United have bid £27.7 for Cuadrado.

I'd be happy with this if true, so long as we still have plans to buy another CM and a CB.
