Oh boy. The Yankees are saying that the tear is small and Tanaka could return after six weeks following a platelet-rich plasma injection. The club noted that the right-hander has seen three doctors and none of them have recommended surgery at this point. Depends on how big the tear is, but my guess is we won't see him until the second half of next year.

Yeah, his first year in the bigs. It happens to nearly every single pitcher who has any serious aspersions of being a pro. It sucks, but gotta deal with it.

I really feel for the guy. I know he's a Yankee and all, but you don't wish this sort of injury on anyone.
