Is your old screen still operable, like cracked but still powers on?

See if your cousin can test with the old one. If it's a pinched cable the colors will be inverted on your old screen as well.

And yes, it's easy to screw it up. I replaced my old 4S screen twice. The second time I thought I was the shite until I got it assembled and got a white screen. Had to take it apart and put it back together for three hours to get it to work again.
