HOWEVER.. Cochran isn't worried:

From an initial review of the ballots, McDaniel’s campaign said last week they had found at least 4,900 voting irregularities.
quote:
"We don't have to have 6,700 [to move forward with a legal challenge], however, I would be surprised if we don't find 6,700," Tyner said. "If there are that many ineligible voters then it's already an automatically a new election."
quote:
Tyner said they wouldn’t know the results of the full review until later Monday night, but they planned to file a challenge to the election results first with the Mississippi Republican Party and then, 10 days later, in court. He added that the campaign doesn't believe it needs to find more illegitimate votes than Cochran's lead to launch a legal challenge.
HOWEVER.. Cochran isn't worried:

Cochran’s campaign fanned out across the state as well, dispatching representatives to all 82 courthouses to oversee the review of ballot boxes. Jordan Russell, Cochran’s spokesman, said the campaign has “been pleased with the results.”
“The county by county results reported thus far are revealing an extremely low number of crossover votes from the June 24th election. As the process moves forward, the conversation is shifting from wild, baseless accusations to hard facts,” said Russell. “As we have said from the beginning, the run-off results are clear: the majority of Mississippians voted for Senator Thad Cochran.”

How do they prove fraud with the absentee ballots? Yeah, I understand that people sell their votes this way. But, how do you prove it??

This McDaniel character sounds like a grade a douchebag... Hasn't every claim his campaign has made turned out to be a lie?

So he isn't backing down from the establishment? He'd likely make a good senator.

The Republican Party just doesn't have an identity anymore.

Thad Cochran just posted the following on FB. (He's gained a 1,000 votes)
quote:
Yesterday, the Mississippi Republican Party State Executive Committee submitted its certified results of the June 24 run-off election to the Secretary of State. Senator Cochran gained nearly 1,000 votes relative to the results from election night and the total result was 194,932-187,265. We are providing updated information from the ballot box reviews conducted today in courthouses across the state. This is not a full report from all 82 counties; it is an updated list we received tonight from our county representatives. Final results will be sent once all examinations are complete.
Two important facts to remember when viewing this information: First, there is no way to know who the questioned voter cast their ballot for; a questioned vote is not synonymous with a vote for Senator Cochran. Second, these are simply votes that are questioned, it does not mean they are definitively improperly cast votes. As you will see, the numbers contained in this review are drastically lower than the wild claims made by the McDaniel campaign.
The bottom line: Senator Cochran's victory was certified today and was in excess of 7,600 votes. These are specifics, and we urge the media to demand the same level of specificity from the McDaniel campaign.

I have a question, Why aren't the voters of MS starting a recall drive for Cochran? Why would he want to be involved in something so dishonest? I personally wouldn't want to serve if I had to cheat to get in. What happened to respecting the democratic process?
Orrin Hatch should have been stood against a wall along time ago.
