i know i'm avoiding the question, but do any of the old-timers here remember an EP called 'star fleet project'? it had brian may & eddie van halen playing together, with alan gratzer on drums, phil chen on bass, and fred mandell on keys. they were basically just jamming & fricking around for a few songs, nothing really ambitious....anyway, i would've liked to have heard a "proper" album by this lineup, 'cuz i'm sure it would've been interesting.

also, rick wakeman & trevor rabin have been trying to get together for years, but something always seems to come up & push things on the backburner. in 2011, they both insisted the project was still imminent, but nothing has panned out yet. having seen the two of them play together onstage alone during yes' 'union' tour, that has potential to be a killer album. while i prefer steve howe on yes' albums, rabin is definitely more a "complete" musician & the possibilities are endless doing something with wakeman. time's running out 'tho....

Yes, I had it. I remember Eric Clapton commented how awful "Blues Breaker" was, saying neither Brian nor Eddie knew how to play the blues. The sad/funny part about this is that the track was dedicated to Clapton because they were both big fans.
