Especially if the couple is young (30s)? I guess some older couples stay together for the kids even if they aren't compatible and may divorce if they're empty nesters. We just had a couple friend send out a blast email announcing their divorce. They had been together since Rush.

Considering women are initiating the majority of them, I would guess that women no longer feel a need to stay in a marriage like they once did. Now, they have options.

Yes.
Especially with the advent of websites like Facebook and AshleyMadison.

A marriage is long over by the time infidelity happens. Divorce is just a business transaction at that point.

Since women are initiating 70% of divorces (90% if they have a college degree) so you should ask them.

The perception is that people stay together for the kid. It's really not the case. What happens is, with kids in the house, THEY become "your life" and you grow apart.

When you realize something, the kids are gone...and so is your relationship since it missed nuturing from being consumed with trying to be a good parent. The parents mean well and think they're doing what's best- and really, they are- just over-looking THEIR relationship.

Mine was. I sick of the SOB too especially when I found out venereal warts was a sexually transmitted disease. That's right, no other way I could have gotten them.

Is this a commonplace practice?
