Yellow Card Suspension

2 yellows in 1 match = player suspended for the rest of that match.

1 yellow in 2 separate matches = player suspended for the entirety of the next match.

I'm sure it's been discussed already, but in what galaxy does this make any sense? Suspension for an entire game is far too harsh of a punishment for only 2 yellows in 5 games. Surely, the card count should reset after the group stage as well as after the quarters, right?

And the entirety of the next match as well.

But I agree.

They used to reset after group stages, but that left it possible that someone could miss the final after receiving a 2nd yellow in the 3rd knockout game/semi-final, so they changed the rule.

I don't know if its better or worse...

It's easily the worst rule in all of sports. Then again what can we expect from such a shitty organization as FIFA.
