I had a dentist lay an outrageous estimate on me for some work and as I walked out of the building he was leaving his private exit on the backside and jumped into his convertible MG. I thought, "bullshite, I'm not buying him a car." and priced around.
I made two phone calls, saved 50% and found people who were actually honest and better at their business.
