After the last world cup, I tried to get into club soccer by watching premier league games on ESPN but ultimately lost interest. For one, there is a seven hour time zone difference. Another, I think the no playoffs thing at the end of the season is pretty anticlimactic (Man City a couple of years ago being the exception).

I think there is enough talent in the MLS these days to start watching and appreciate the local clubs here in the U.S. obviously its not close the the major Euro leagues, but if more people start watching and attending games, more money is generated to bring in more big time players, and hopefully some of that will be home grown as America's young athletes realize there is a future in Soccer.

Just need to pick a team to root for. Thought about F.C. Dallas arbitrarily. Atlanta's team wont start play until 2017 or that would be a no brainer. Any teams local to the southeast that I could pull for?

And also, do MLS teams ever travel and play at neutral sites in regions of the country without a local team? It'd be cool to go to Nashville and watch a game.

Even though they aren't local I suggest watching a Portland or Seattle game if you can catch on on TV. Really great atmosphere and fan support in those two stadiums.

Orlando will have a team starting next season. Currently, there's no MLS teams in the southeast.

They do sometimes in the preseason or the US Open Cup.
