I have even done that myself when I was younger, and gained a little rank and power, yet still not ready to make the most of it.
There are ways to spend time and decisions more wisely. Making people suffer is needless in this situation IMO, and has no positive outcome.

What on earth are you blathering about? She was contracted to do a job, and she is just bitching about doing what she is being paid to do. If that is "making her suffer" then she should just quit. No one is holding a gun to her head.
