I read an interesting idea in the ShinGuardian's preview on one way to try and contain Hazard on the flanks. They suggested throwing Yedlin out on the same side as Fab, basically taking Bedoya's spot, and using both their aggressiveness out wide to force Hazard to track back and help poor Vertonghen.

I still don't think I agree with it as we'd basically be rolling the dice on Hazard not slipping through but it's an interesting thought and Klinnsman has already shown he'll pull surprises.

Hazard is going to switch up the middle if we do something like that.

I agree with OP. Algeria would have been a tough matchup for us.

Belgium is too, but with this group of players, I would rather be the underdog.

If Hazard does Hazard things, Belgium will score. If Lukaku hits an amazing strike, they will score.

I'm not sweating Belgium scoring. I just want to see us go out there and express ourselves and put a footprint on the game. If we lose, we lose, but let's not do it by being scared of Eden Hazard.
Send Johnson and Beasley up the flanks, get Bradley charging into the box looking for a loose ball. Let's win this thing.

If Jozy can't go, I wouldn't mind this with Zusi on the left.

I feel Zusi has been just as good defensively as Bedoya and provides better help in the offensive attack.

As for Yedlin, I feel we are missing a spark, an igniter offensively. Perhaps Yedlin is that guy.

The problem is we'll have to actually possess the ball to force him to track back and we have shown no ability to do that this tournament.

Also, Belgium, unlike Chelsea, have other dangerous attacking options outside Hazard so the the old triple team him against the sideline that all the smart teams did against him last season probably won't work as well.
