I disagree, as does the Blackhawks front office.

They're 25 and 26 years old, top players in the League, Stanley Cup Champions, Captain, proven playoff big time performers...there are few less players than them I'd want to give that much money too.

They deserve it, smart move to lock them up.

I wouldn't go that far. He just didn't use the injury as an excuse

That's a long deal for two players, one of whom is a wing who has only scored 30 goals once. I think the Kane deal is a massive overpay: he's a wing who doesn't score at a crazy rate. Toews is more valuable because of his position and the fact he's a stellar defensive player. Now, the two biggest cap hits in the league are one team.

You have to spend to keep your stars, but I think the Hawks would have been better off to let Kane walk.
