Texas won the wild card

No they didn't. They lost to Baltimore in the one-game matchup.

And this year they're fighting Houston for last place in the division.

I don't care for baseball, but damn, Moneyball has me rooting for the A's each time I hear about them or see them on TV.

We've won the AL West the past 2 years and have the best record in baseball right now.

Of course we are legit. Do you even watch baseball?

The A's are the class of the AL and all of baseball. Josh Donaldson is the best third baseman in the game. Brandon Moss has major pop. Derek Norris is slashing 300/400/500. Yoenis Cespedes is an animal with a cannon. Sonny Gray has all the makings of an ace. Sean Doolittle has been lights out since he took over as closer. Jesse Chavez is a legit quality starter. They have really good bats throughout the lineup and impressive arms as usual.

Damn dude. Good post.

I just have questions about the rotation depth going forward.

Chavez already has more IP than any other season in his career.
Gray's first full year.

Kazmir and Milone will be fine. Brad Mills has been OK since being acquired for $1 (serious), and Pomeranz will be back.

But they are an injury away from trouble. I suspect they'll be addressing this at the deadline.

They don't have much ammo when it comes to making a deal. Their roster is pretty much locked in for the long hall. They do have 7 guys who can start though (gray, Chavez, kazmir, pomeranz, millone, mills, strailey) so I'd imagine BB will roll with them. If anything, they could maybe pawn off John Jaso to another contender who needs a catcher/DH because Stephen Vogt has been playing well as the lefty platoon guy at catcher.

Oco is a tough place to play for opposing teams and it's dimensions favor the A's pitching style. Their fans get rowdy. A's -Giants would be an awesome WS

Not at all. Just saying that ESPN is depriving fans of a matchup of two elite teams in the league just to show the Yankees. Face it The Yankees are mediocre at best this year. Ratings or not.

And still superior in ratings compared to many other teams, including the A's so therefore record is out of the window

There is no debate on this. I am not a big enough fan to get extra-innings. It was just a thought and I am sure other people would have liked to see somebody different, than the Yanks or Red Sox or Philles and Braves.

Yes. They are more legit than the giants and brewers.
