well Jesus was extremely liberal for his time. that said i don't think bringing him into political discussions is a good thing and anyone claiming to "know" what he would say today is completely full of shite. I'm sure he would have a lot of choice words for all of us.

Exactly. He was a purely spiritual leader in a time where everyone was dying for a political/military savior. He gave them the opposite of what they wanted, he gave them what they needed. You don't need a Kingdom. You don't need Pharasees, you don't need the trappings of power, all you need is love, humility, forgiveness, and compassion, but love (for God, for yourself, and for others) above all others.
