There are rumors that the only "sure-fire locks" at RB to make the Patriots roster are Shane Vereen and James White. I have a feeling the Patriots took White not only because of his production over four years with relatively low-mileage on his legs, but because he is so secure with the ball.
These rumors might be one of those "light a fire" under Ridley. He is an immensely talented runner and NE would be pretty dumb to part ways with him. Not sure I could trust Ridley, though. The slightest mishap (i.e. fumble) and he will be back on the bench longer than he was last season.
In my opinion, even considering Ridley as a third back on your fantasy roster is risky.

I thought fitz would bounce back to elite status under palmer, but it didn't happen. Combine that with the defenses he has to face in that division and I'm likely staying away
