Times have changed. We're almost full now. We can be and should be more selective to whom we allow to become American citizens. It's our sovereign right. That poem doesn't represent America, it only represents its author and her opinion.

Then why does it adorn one of our national symbols? Immigrants aren't a problem. Unfettered welfare state is the problem.
