Can't CC in a bar. Can't CC while drinking. This makes bourbon street in effect a gun free zone. I agree with you that gun free zones are ineffective.

I was told in class that I could not carry a gun on me in clubs that sell alcohol even though I have a CC. So my guess is most law abiding citizens do not carry their gun down there.

CCW holders are not allowed to carry in a bar or club. If one of your fellow Democrats decides to shoot up an area like this one, chances are the LAW ABIDING citizens who are CCW holders will have left their guns at home or in the hotel.
