Sounds like it.

I'm sure there was a lot of talent, but I'm not so sure he was a sure fire major leaguer.

This. Most kids who dominated sports at that age fizzled out hard. Either before finishing high school or before making it to any real professional level.

Not sure many scouts had him on top their radar. Then after a year in prison still there. Then after 2 more still there. I doubt anyone could say that. He was as sure fire as anyone.

Im sure he was talented as hell. But people on this board think he was the next mickey mantle.
