From what you said and I read I think you made the right decision.
I was playing around recently and found a Grady White Tournament 185. I had never heard of the boat before, but I'm not a big powerboat type guy. The boat appeared to me to be very versatile. GW is very well made and of course you can fish with one. However, the 185 also has a bow seating area and a tow rope pylon.
I found one for sale in Holland, Michigan, that had been used fresh water on Lake Michigan. I wanted it, but when I called it had already been sold.
Anyway there are several for sale on the internet all around 20K with trailer.
