Though I think we might be passed the point of no return, I think Romney would have at least slowed down the fall.

Funny, people thought the same thing back in the late 70's. The middle east was falling apart, the economy was in the tank, and the mood of the people was awful. Then Ronald Reagan came along and his relentless optimism was infectious. He constantly reminded us that we lived in the greatest country in the world and that we could control our own destiny and that a robust economy would make things better - for all Americans.

Romney might not be another Ronald Reagan, but I think he was probably more uniquely qualified to be president at the time he ran than any other candidate we've had in recent history. I also think he would have brought a positive vibe with him to the office - no more "Debbie Downer", like what we have now...
