Saban is a big part of why LSU has turned in to a destination school. Without Saban, Miles probably doesn't even take the call from hiring committee. Sustaining a program is actually tougher than you think. If McElroy thinks any coach could have done that, he's mistaken. All you have to do it look at what Dooley and Muschamp have done as head coaches and I don't think either one could have been promoted and maintained LSU's status as well as Miles had. Fisher turned FSU around but look how long it took him to do that.

If McElroy thinks following Saban is that easy, wait until Bama has to do it - do you really think Smart can sustain it as long as Miles has in a tougher SEC than when Saban was at LSU.
