Considering they would have RPG's and machine guns platforms, it would be harder than most would think with absolutely no help from any type of military equipment. We would hold them back and ultimately win but it wouldn't be the arse kicking most are saying.

We have all that and more between the National Guard armories throughout the state, state and local police forces, Barksdale, and Fort Polk. We'd be just fine. Heck, there's a tank and a helicopter gunship in the armory next to the baseball fields in Gonzales

ISIS is having success in Iraq because their citizens are disarmed, the Iraqi military had all of its competent officers purged for political reasons, and because most of the areas they now control supported them in secret from the beginning because the Al-Maliki regime does not support them or even offer them a voice in government. ISIS is only a threat to Iraq because Iraq sowed its own demise.

I was going off the OP assumption that no such equipment would be available for use. If we had access to any of the military bases, it would not even be a discussion.

If it was just LA citizens with thier own weapons, again we would be fine but it would not be a simple fight.
