No tv m-th AT ALL. Lots of imagination games. Lay off the school work until school...trust me he will get his fill then. And so will you.
When they get interested in something, indulge them...even if it's weird. Will just be a specialized talent later on :-)
Evenings and weekend for family, not a million practices and sports.
OH! For pre k kids I always recommend the mimo (formally head sprout) reading program. It is THE BEST.
