Mine died over a year ago and I haven't been able to bring myself to get another. I'm finally ready for one.
And your son would probably enjoy it more than you.
Dogs can be a little boys best friend. If you can, consider getting one. It will help both of you. They're always at the door happy to see you when you get home.
