Cool story. You know who rebounded better than him last season? Stop acting like a retard. Whether you close your eyes and ignore last season or not his career rebounding is elite and clearly better than Okafor.

Here's a decent video to show how he rebounds and gets the ball out quickly:

Glad you shared that info.

Your personal observations mirror, almost word for word, what 95% of the analysis say. Asik is a "grab the ball" sort of player. We don't need a scoring Center...we have $56M tied up on guys who get paid to do that.

I'm excited!

When was the last time we had a legit NBA center? Tyson Chandler?

Right. He'll get 10-12 points a game on put-back dunks and lay-ups off of rebounds and dump offs, free throws, and lay-ups from trailing on the fast break. Basically just clean-up duty.

But all that is gravy. He makes his money doing the dirty work of being a big physical inside presence on the defensive end and owning the glass.

correct
in a vacuum asik for a 1st rnd pick is a no brainer

This is about Gordon
unless they can move him (or if he morphs into Manu ginobili) this team is stuck like chuck and now are without an asset to help make that happen

I don't like the idea of giving up draft picks at all. Unless you getting a superstar in return.

what?

mid-late 1st rounders aren't worth anything

If he could have held on to picks the past few seasons, they would have a lot of flexibility and could have built a seriously talented roster.

like with whom?

we take noel last year and pick at 6-10 this year and get...who? marcus smart maybe? elfrid payton? saric?

once we knew how good those guys are, we'd have to max out davis and lose basically all of our cap anyway

Exactly. Like I said in another thread, fans love to overvalue the hell out of draft picks. A mid 1st for a proven, interior defender and rebounder? I'll take that all day.

I think its the unknown factor that makes fans
over-hype draft picks. Fans see draft picks and imagine Lebron not Austin Rivers.
