Seantrel Henderson almost didn't get drafted.

If my memory serves me correctly didn't these guys wait to sign a week or two after national signing day?

Also wasn't Seantrel Henderson originally committed to USC?

It seems like the guys who flip flop, wait after NSD to sign etc... end up being more trouble than they are worth.

I'm a casual follower of recruiting so take easy if I'm stepping way out of bounds.

History seems to repeat itself with these guys like Gunner Kiel. He signed on NSD but it wasn't without committing to 3 different schools and causing drama.

I think Henderson flipped between USC, Minnesota, and The U. That dudes recruitment was wild. Pryor is a bad example because he was pretty good at tOSU and has started games in the NFL.

Clowney waited until the 20th to announce and he turned out to be pretty good.

The Bryce Brown saga was a recruiting shite show and a circus in college, but he did well in the NFL.

Scouts can only go off of talent and potential. They have no way of knowing growth of skill and maturity. Pryor was pretty damn good in college though.

Well the big thing about Henderson is that he's pretty lazy from all reports. No real work ethic and fluctuating weight changes that drove his coaches nuts at Miami. Didn't help that he had to cancel his pro day halfway through it because he was gassed.

High Drama during recruiting does increase the probability of high drama during career. But to state they are more trouble than their worth is a bit strong. Being a good teammate is the only thing that matters. The #1 expectation is unfair to everyone involved more times than not, including the NFL.
In college no drama and just focus on the team is critical. 4 stars with good work habits every year and a 5* shut down corner and WR every other would be my wish list.

Pryor was playing in the HS football playoffs and then right into HS basketball and basketball playoffs and made it known well before signing day that he would make a choice after signing day because he wanted to make sure he was able to take visits and not be rushed into deciding.
