Oops

You say Greneda, I say Granada.

quote:

American dentist Edward Gamson hoped to visit Granada — a charming city in southern Spain known for its 11th-century Alhambra palace — on a recent vacation. But what he thought would be a two-hour British Airways flight from London ended up being a nine-hour flight all the way to the Caribbean. You know, to Grenada instead of Granada.

Granada is a city founded in the 11th century, famous for its Moorish history and architecture; Grenada is a Caribbean island off the coast of Venezuela with beautiful beaches and is a producer of spices like nutmeg and cinnamon.

quote:

They realized that something was wrong when they left London’s Gatwick Airport for what was supposed to be a two-hour flight, only to realize that the in-flight tracking systems had a route that veered away from Europe. Some nine hours later, the pair found themselves 4000 miles away from their intended destination.

#1 - What an idiot. Nothing seemed amiss on his itinerary at all?

#2 - I'm sure the airline has language somewhere that travelers are ultimately responsible for their itinerary.

Gamson and his partner never made it to Spain, and British Airways refused to reimburse $4,5o0 first-class tickets.

ghey ISIS splurging yet they didn't realize that $4500 was a little pricing for a 2 hr flight?

Am I reading this wrong or were the tickets $9000 total?

There was an Oakland-Auckland mix-up out of LA years ago. Carrier played it up for publicity, threw money and trips at the guy and he even went on Letterman.

Lemons to lemonade.
