also amazon reviews are suspect at best. I understand some people dont like it, but i have never had the problems and i have been offshore fishing with it for a few years.

I do two things, either leave a long tag end about 1/4" or burn the end into a ball. I find that most people cut the tag too close and it will slip until a certain point... if tag isnt long enough, the knot fails.

I appreciate the suggestions, but it wasn't a function of the knot slipping. These were tied to swivels and I didn't go through the trouble of even trimming the ends, they were probably an inch long or more.
Damn line was getting scratched up from oyster beds and was busting. Shimano charged me more just to give me the red arse!
