I have to confess doing the same. I usually fish the coastal marsh. If the reel shows signs of corrosion I do my best to clean it but if it starts to hang up, I just get another inexpensive reel and a new spool of braid.

if you have a full spool on there why dont you just spool it from the other real. i would guess 60-70% of the line is still new under the other 30% you have been using. save you 20-30 bucks.


but i admit i respool reels jus tot d oit and get me in the fishing mood.
