I think the season is way too long. I can't stand when I see where the {insert team name} played the {insert team name} on a Tuesday afternoon for the 4826264947 time this season.
They should cut the season in half. Maybe I'm alone here but I get pumped for the season to start, then after a month or two, I completely quit paying attention until the playoffs start.
Too many old timers and traditionalists are killing the game, I think.

The reason the season is so long is due to the history of the game. Back in the day a baseball game was not a planned vacation trip by a family with the expectation of spending 1,000 bucks on motel, tickets, food, parking, etc.
A baseball game was something you went to every day if you lived in a baseball city. Tickets were cheap. Food was cheap. There was no T.V. If you didn't live in a baseball city you had to listen to the game on radio.
But today, the baseball season should be shortened.
