I'm not so sure about this. If you maintain it well, you will still have issues. The nature of a boat is for things to go wrong. Like a home, you will constantly be doing maintenance, fixing small things to keep it in good working order.

Generally, people like to complain. And the ones you hear are the ones that aren't out on the water enjoying their boat

main reason is people invest too much in a boat, which for 99% of the people out there is something that will rarely be used.

T-Bob gets a few extra dollars in his pocket and decides he wants a boat. He goes buy him a $20k boat and uses it a few times then parks it for a year or two. Now he has to pay to get it running again or let it rot in his yard.
