salt water intrusion

before mrgo there wasnt any salt water in manchac pass or maurepas

because the land that was btw borgne and pontchartrain is almost gone, even with the closure of mrgo, pontchartrain is still getting a ton more salt water than used to.

anyone remember catching tons of stripped bass in pontchartrain back in the late 80s through mid 90s? they werent big, but plentiful. then late 90s i havent heard of any.

Thanks for the info. That whole area has changed I guess, and I never truly knew how good I had it. That cypress/tupelo swamp, off I-10, between Lutcher and Reserve, and all those mallards.......and fishing 55, where there are now more residents than there were other fishermen in the 80s......all gone. Glad I got to see it before it was gone actually.

Nothing like being in that timber, and not even hearing another blind's rumble.
