So he didn't apologize for the comparison, but rather just doesn't want to talk about social issues. I can understand why, Rick, but I don't think you're going to get your wish as primary season rolls on. He better just own the comparison and go all in or find a better way to articulate an apology.

"I stepped right in it," the Texas Republican said Thursday at an event sponsored by the Christian Science Monitor
quote:
"We need to be a really respectful and tolerant country to everybody...Whether you're gay or straight, you need to be having a job, and those are the focuses that I want to be involved with," he said.
"We're an incredibly diverse mosaic of a country," Perry continued. "A lot of these issues need to be decided at the state level."
quote:
The day before, on Wednesday, Perry stood by the comments on CNN's "Crossfire" when he was asked by co-host Stephanie Cutter whether he believes homosexuality is a disease.
"I think my position has been fairly clear on that for a substantial period of time," Perry said, pivoting quickly to the economy.
The focus should be on American jobs, Perry said, "and that is not on these social issues."
"I think the social issues should be decided state-by-state rather than being something in Washington, D.C. to try to make one-size-fits-all."

You ever see the memes where something trivial happens and then "Thanks a lot, Obama" pops up? Like a lady spills something on herself on her couch and then "Thanks a lot, Obama" pops up...
I think we should make one for you but replace "Obama" with "the elite".

Many people wish he could, and not because we support Perry for President or his opinion on gays.

I think how and why we order society the way we do is something within the purview of the President and fair game to ask a presidential candidate.

I didn't say it wasn't.

In what sense is he a buffoon?

Of course, not nearly as funny as watching your panties wad at the term "elite" while you engage in threads of "nation-building," "left vs right," and "war on terrorism" ad nauseam.

Dude has peaked. He'll never win any national election.

The elite is really trying to groom him....And he keeps fricking it up.

Many homos have been arguing genetic linkage, Rick's argument falls into the same camp.
There is still the difference in how to approach this, but you would have thought he would gotten a smidgen of appreciation for moving their direction in part.
I was thinking they would say, "well you're making progress, keep working at it", but no, they just beat him up anyway.
