I beg to differ. Considering the worst part is the occasional spoiled person on a message board... Yeah I'll take it.

DiNardo has ALWAYS been very complimentary of his time in Baton Rouge. Not long ago, when Joe Dean died, Matt Moscona interviewed DiNardo and even 20 years later, you could tell that he still has a fondness and a respect for this place. I would be all for honoring him in some way.

"Brought the Magic Back" for sure, but every other week!
Just can never forget the ecstasy 97 UF and the depression OM next week, then beat Gumps then trounced by Irish! Was a rollercoaster, but yeah I would applaud his return!

Don't think Gerry has much interest, I've always heard he's pretty bitter. Read somewhere he couldn't even watch the 03 title game because he thought it should have been him there

Cite a source or get out of here with that nonsense.

He had a good deal of bowl success, and his '96 and '97 teams also won SEC West co-titles...perhaps he should be honored in conjunction with the 20-year anniversaries of one of those teams--I think that Archer returned a couple of times for 20-year reunions of past championship teams.

I could dig honoring Gerry in some way. He started what we are now. I didn't live in LA or care about LSU football, until his first season here. Being in the student section for "The Bring Back the Magic" game was the day I fell in love with LSU football.

I have heard the opposite. He knew that Joe Dean pretty much had no choice but to fire him. I think Gerry understood and took it like a man.

Troll somewhere else. This is completely untrue.

Bill King on Sirius radio still tells the story about seeing a guy jogging in LSU garb in Pensacola and realized it was Gerry. He stopped him and talked to him since they are friends. This incident happened 2-3 years ago.

Around 2003, a business partner of mine sat next to him on a flight up in the north east. He said Dinardo was wearing a LSU shirt and they talked about LSU for 30 minutes or so. He said Dinardo was very friendly and spoke very positively about LSU. My friend was a graduate of UConn, not a Tiger.

I think it would be great to honor him. Sure he had some probs at the end, but he got LSU on the path. He'd get a standing ovation in there, and I think that would put a smile on his face, which he deserves in my book.

They should show this bomb arse commercials on the jumbotron before they bring him out...

The framework of the current program definitely began with DiNardo getting Kevin Faulk and regaining the edge in closing the borders to the likes of Florida State, Michigan, ND, Colorado, etc..

agreed.

Those Bank One commercials were awesome. Takes so e courage to lead Mike the Tiger on a leash.

Dinardeaux had passion and a terrific sense of humor. In many ways, his style was much like Les Miles...except he spoke eloquently, and not in riddles.

I don't think Les does that on purpose.

Yeah that is not true. My good friend's brother is roommates with Dinardo's son at LSU. Dinardo loves LSU and considers it his home. Last year Dinardo was on the staff for the Chicago Bears don't know if he's still there though.
