Is Wisconsin the only state with a John Doe law?

Never heard of it before. Of course that doesn't mean anything since I'm not what one would call a legal expert.

And I'll be the first to say that just because a prosecutor claims something like this it does not necessarily mean that they broke the law.

Would need know more details before trying to determine that.

Not saying in any way that Walker's innocent (haven't been following this at all) but this whole "John Doe" investigation thing seems like cause for concern. It gives prosecutors the power to investigate, essentially in secret, whether or not a crime has even taken place. I'm sure there's more nuance to it, but it sounds an awful lot like casting a wide net and hoping something comes floating down the stream.
