I did this very thing. It's been about 2 weeks. So far the coverage is not as good, but the fact that I have no contract, no data limits, free access to a premium app that helps me find my iPhone in case I lose it, and the customer service is just as good makes me very pleased so far.
So far, the pros far outweigh the cons.

This is exactly what I'm hoping for. I'm expecting the coverage to be a little worse than ATT but as long as it's not terrible I'm probably going to do it. I'll do the Test Drive once it's available.
