I'd rather sign gordon to an extension than have Josh Smith anywhere near this roster.

I don't think there is a player in the league that could make me rather that

I hate Josh Smith.

He was booed routinely in ATL even though he was one of their best players.

Physically, he reminds me of a LeBron or Melo. Except his production is like 1/5 of those players. He just plays like a selfish shithead most of the time. There are a few other guys like that in the league, like J.R. Smith. But at least JR can fill it up while being a selfish shithead. Josh Smith does no such thing.

I hate the way he plays. I hate his attitude. I just hate him as a player.

We can't offer a 2015 1st can we?

Can't give up consecutive 1st rounders right?

I believe after the 2014 draft is completed, we can offer our 2015 1st. Not 100% on that, though.

That is correct. The rule is you can't give up consecutive future 1sts. Once the draft is past it's no longer a future pick. See last season when we essentially traded a 2013 and 2014 1st for Jrue Holiday.

Technically, we trade draft rights to a player we already selected in 2013 along with a 2014 pick.

Technically true, but I'm just trying to give people an example they can identify with. People get confused about this issue every year.

quote:

The Stepien rule applies only to future first round picks. For example, if this is the 2011-12 season, then a team can trade its 2012 first round pick without regard to whether they had traded their 2011 pick, since their 2011 pick is no longer a future pick. But they can't trade away both their 2012 and 2013 picks, since both are future picks. Teams sometimes work around this rule by trading first round picks in alternate years, or by giving one team the right to swap picks with the other.

He isn't on the block, but the rumors are we have shown interest in Monroe and it seems fairly unlikely Gordon for Monroe would be enough for Detroit to be interested.

What about Gordon and Smith or Gordon, Smith, and a 2nd?

If Demps is able to pull of Gordon + filler for someone good or not taking anything back, he'll have worked a miracle about as big as getting Washington to take Okafor and Ariza.

The more I think about it the more I think we should just hold onto Gordon until he comes off the books.

You have no idea how much I want to disagree with this, but I'm afraid that Demps will create an even bigger problem if he unloads EG. If the injured guys come back and get productive, let EG sit (he has a lot of experience doing that).

If you blew up the roster right now, who, other than AD, would other teams start beating down the door to get at? Just asking.
