Lebron has all the ability in the world to be the best to ever play the game. He just has to be get hungry again and stop playing like a damn pussy. The sooner he embraces his greatness the closer he gets. He still lacks the killer instinct that MJ always had. The next 5 years will be very telling.

With how many extra seasons under his belt?

I'm done. The only people arguing about who is better are message board morons. Every expert knows what the answer is.

He just went trough an NBA finals averaging 29 points on 68% shooting . If that is pussy the world could use more pussies

Three extra seasons. Once again, I don't see how that matters unless there is a new rule that kicks players out the league after a certain amount of seasons

Nobody in this thread is arguing that. Jordan's complete career is certainly better. But one would have to be a complete idiot to say Lebron isn't more accomplished at 29. That is a fact as much as the sky is blue is a fact

Yeah, the world doesn't benefit from Lebron's field %.

And the reason he's a pussy is his team needed him to average 39ppg, which he could've easily done, but he's too busy trying to prove he's not a selfish player and picking his next flop victim. He needs to man the frick up.

Can you add MJ's College NC to it? I mean by age 29 he did win one.
I never thought of that. It isn't an unfair point, I suppose.

It's a fact that Lebron accomplished more by his current age than Jordan did by the same age. Those of us who comfortably admit that see this fact as nothing more than an interesting perspective on both players. Anyone who has a problem with this or attempts to engage in an argument over whether these "numbers are flawed" is a massive tool.

Where do you get your numbers? In fact, even the ppg is wrong.

BTW, how many times did MJ's teams not make the playoffs?

What about Lebron?

He didn't have 1 game in the entire playoffs where he shot 68%

Why are we ignoring the fact that the Heat lost to a better team this year, and beat the better team last year?

LeBron getting that Cavs team to the finals was more impressive than the 2 championships he won.

I finally agree with you on something!

exactly. the main reason this argument exists, also, is to show people who are looking back on memories of jordan the hype machine, that their memories are wrong. jordan actually had a very similar path to lebron in terms of perception. in the 80s, the argument was that jordan would never be better than magic. he was all highlight reels, scoring, marketing, and hype. he didn't have the (insert whatever fricking subjective, made up shite people used in the 80s) like magic.

it took jordan a while to develop as a player, AND for the GM to put a team around him that could win a title. people forget this point, and ironically use a similar argument against LBJ. so then this point has to be made, namely to remind people that jordan took a long time to do all the things people are criticizing lebron for lacking

THAT is the context of this argument

I agree for the most part, but you are not 100% right. Jordan never came close to quitting like Lebron did against Orlando w/Cleveland or had WTF series like Lebron did against Dallas. It's crazy how people forget that Lebron just would not shoot the ball in late game situations. Hell, Kobe was yelling at him to take the last shot in a damn all-star game. His talent has never been a question, but at times his killer instinct has. If Ray Allen doesn't hit that shot last year in game 6, we spend all year talking about his 2 horrible turnovers in the last minute.

MJ was thought of as a scorer who couldn't get over the hump, but his competitiveness or desire to win was never questioned. Lebron's was (I think he's past that now).

You also should add the Player of the year award and 2X All-American too IMO. It doesn't tip scales one way or another, but it may make the All-Star game numbers look more equal. I mean those are big accomplishments to have in college when all the NBA guys are staying for 3-4 years, so the college game wasn't as diluted as today.

He had a triple-double in that game.

That happened when Lebron was 26. How did Jordan do in the NBA finals when he was 26?
