Taylor could be the world's best education superintendent but it's meaningless if all he does is piss people off, especially parents, legislators, state education officials and school board members.

He appears to go out of his way to be confrontational with education stakeholders when just the slightest bit of cordiality would make a positive impact. He has a huge chip on his shoulder all the time.

I agree, he isn't likable, but they knew that when they hired him. It was easy to find out his reputation out through a Google search.

They had Dillworth prior who by all accounts was a lame duck who didn't fight for anything he wanted. Heck, he wouldn't even quit when he wanted to. People didn't want that kind of Superintendent. They didn't want Dr. Brister from within the system who by all accounts has a likeable personality. They supposedly wanted an outsider with fresh ideas who would change the direction of the school system and fight off state takeovers. They wanted a Dr. Taylor, a person who would push for what they thought was best no matter what anyone else thought. But as always as soon as that person's started changing things and those changes didn't line up with what they wanted they want him gone.

Again I ask the question what do people want/expect from their Superintendent here? What does that person have to do to make you think they are doing a good job?

And for the record I would have never hired the guy, but if you ever want things to improve you have to have someone here longer than one contract term. It does take time to change a school system with as much political baggage as this one.

To start with it would be nice if he told the truth and addressed improprieties in the system directly . Is that too much to ask for?

Are you talking about the credits for graduating incident? Didn't EBR self report that? From what I heard it sounded like mistakes were made, when discovered they were reported, and EBR was willing to make changes to ensure it wouldn't happen again. Was there more to that than what I heard?
