Yeah it's the fact that they just chop off the faces for the tusks and collect other organs that they know they can sell on the black market.




Then leave the rest of the body there. It's not like they are using the meat to feed their families or anything. The just want the organs the Asian black market is willing to pay top dollar for.




I've talked to people in Kenya while I was there. Elephants can be destructive as hell. Many villagers don't like them because of that. They eat a plant that basically makes them drunk and they will destroy a village in their drunken rampage.



If there was a serious elephant overpopulation then I could see allowing so many to be hunted.
