Prepare for a lot of "I bet you're white" comments.

I'm white and haven't bet let off a ticket since I was 16. White officer after white officer has written me up despite pleas.

FWIW the last 3 times I've been pulled over I simply set my phone to video record and placed it face down on the center console (I'll take audio over nothing) and then turned the car off and placed my hands on the wheel.

I didn't notify the cop that I was recording, nor make it obvious by putting my phone in some weird position.

I saw a cop at lunch pulling folks over in the Cumberland area today

Where? I went to Maggiano's for lunch today and saw no cops. I also work in that area.

I was pulled over two weeks ago in America. Had to think fast. I immediately exited the car and spread all documentation in a perfectly straight line on the pavement. Then I got on my knees and put my hands behind my head and lifted my head to the sun in order to assure him I was temporarily blinded. All I could hear was his footsteps as the bits of gravel crunched under his feet as he paced around me in circles. I believe he examined my papers briefly but not sure. After a couple of intense minutes, he just said "good.....gooood! Maw ha ha ha! You are free to carry on comrade citizen". No ticket or warning. That, my friends, is how to handle a LEO.

I've been pulled over 5 times in my life for speeding and have acted exactly the same way. I've gotten 5 speeding tickets. But I'm also very unlucky. lol

he comes back and hands me my license and a warning "because I was so cooperative".

Same thing happened to me a few years back. I was in an unfamilier area and made a U-Turn at a light (I was lost). Literally saw the No U-Turn sign as I made it, and a cop was on me in seconds.

I pulled over immediately in a safe area, rolled my window down, and turned the car off, placing my hands on the wheel.

He asked me if I knew what I did. I apologized, said I saw it when I made the turn, and said I wasn't familiar with the area. He confirmed that by looking at my license.

He ran it, it came back clean, and he let me go with a warning. I thanked him and drove off.

Took about 5 minutes.

Back in the college days, a buddy and I got pulled over with an 8-ball of coke in a clear glass container we took from from a lab on campus. It was sitting on the dashboard. The cop asked what it was and without missing a beat, my pal said, "It's my o-chem experiment." Yet another felony deferred by quick thinking and proper etiquette with the men of law enforcement!

Why should I have to put my keys on the dash and my hands clutching the steering wheel in order to get a warning?
