It was 2nd and 2 against Clemson. Jeremey Hill was averaging over 10 ypc. Mett didn't have a down that game with a tremendous amount of pressure.

It was 3rd and 10 against Bama. Mett was deadly that game and Bama couldn't stop us through the air. We chose to try a 45 yard field goal instead of taking a shot at the win. Les usually does a great job when calling fakes and going for it on 4th down.

Those situations aren't very similar. The best shot of getting a 1st down on 2nd and 2 against Clemson was to run the ball twice.

We had a very slim chance of converting a 3rd and 10 on the ground while averaging 2.8 ypc
