Burnout would be my guess. It has been at the top of the rankings in N.O. since it opened and it has to take a toll. I know I've read stories that when he closes the restaurant for vacations he would go work in other restaurant kitchens for other great chefs just to learn new things.

I used to love that place. They lost my business when they went with the pre fixe menu with no substitutions (the wife has a severe shellfish allergy and they would not accomodate us)

Oh well, I will still miss the old Stella!, when you could order ala carte and the Michael Jackson one gloved service.

Boswell is a tremendous chef but his soup Nazi like rules in is restaurant probably led to this closing.
