Fair enough.
After perusing the thread a little more, both sides of the argument have valid points. Certainly, the staff has to plan on bringing in backups to account for any contingency (from injury... to not panning out... to the possibility of a transfer), but I agree with you that it isn't fair to Jennings to overtly question how dedicated he might be at some future time... which is why I felt inclined to add my second post wishing them all successful careers, which is possible. Case in point: Matt Cassel sat behind Leinart pretty much his entire college career at USC, still got drafted and has had a fairly solid pro career. I would suspect Cameron could help both Jennings & Harris make that next step however the playing time shakes out.
All that said, I'll refrain from posting about that part of the conversation anymore so that the thread will hopefully go back to McMillan. I haven't seen the film yet (not that I know enough to judge well), but agree with others that Cameron & Miles must've liked him well enough on his own merit to offer him, though friendship with D. Lodge doesn't hurt.
