re: What is your opinion on the Redskins nickname situation?

Redskin was never a derogatory term. In fact, it was a badge of honor. The name came about by a group of native American football players who played for the Redskins near when the team was formed. They came up with the nickname and it stuck. They should not be forced to change it by anyone unless the Redskins' organization decides it wants to.
